The Final Design...

The final design for the bump outs was made this past Saturday, March 27, 2010. Below is an image of what the completed bump out will look like. Please keep in mind that the landscaping and inlay of brick is not set in stone yet. Inlay of brick needs to go before HDRC (Historic Design Review Committee) approval, sometime this coming 1st week of April. Landscaping will come after the bump outs are finished, Enjoy...

And The Oak Pollen Continues...

Oak pollen reached reached over 23,000 and it (pollen/flowers) was seen all over the bump out at the corner of Mission St. & South Alamo. The brick was measured and tested into the bump out, which is up for review via HDRC (Historic Design Review Committee) next week. Tomorrow will be first Friday and everyone will see the new changes that have engulfed South Alamo Street...

Another TIRZ Project Video (Concrete Forms for Bump Outs)

It's Groundbreaking...Literally!

Today bump outs took shape with groundbreaking results. Traffic seemed calm and respectful to the project going on. One curious patron parked his black BMW at the corner of Mission & Alamo St. to view the wonderful sight of the TIRZ project taking place, in full force...

Project Will Calm Traffic on South Alamo...

The TIRZ Project will calm traffic down South Alamo as seen on the 1st day of the TIRZ Project. VIA busses and trolleys, delivery trucks, and other traffic became calm during the first part of the morning into the afternoon hours on Monday, March 22, 2010.

Completing this project will insure that no accident will occur to many of our tourists/locals that patronize our businesses in Southtown.

(Above photo you can see a pedestrian (not hurt) trying to cross at the corner of Mission & South Alamo, but with vehicles flying down the street, you know what comes next...)

Waiting to Cross the Other Side...

Still waiting to see some action on the TIRZ project. At around 9:00am Curtis Johnson (King William Resident) could be seen at South Alamo St. and Mission reviewing paper work, looking at the bulb outs and quickly back into his vehicle.

Meeting to be held with Southtown Chamber President Rene Guerrero, Tim Sulak (TIRZ Project Manager) and others...

(Photo taken today, shows a truck blocking one of the few cross walks in Southtown. Hopefully the TIRZ project will eliminate this problem as it is quite difficult crossing this crosswalk when cars will not slow down, and speed up as you are crossing. )

TIRZ Project Comes To a Halt!

STOP!!! The TIRZ Project comes to a halt today. No word on why and when the project will continue as we hope within 3 weeks all nine bulb outs will be completed. Below you will see a photo taken today as talks of TIRZ were being discussed between project manager Tim Sulak (UT Longhorns T-Shirt), City of San Antonio Rep. and supposedly HDRC (Historic Design Review Committee) Reps.

Please let the TIRZ Project continue...
